Puppy With Mouth Tied Shut in -35 Cold Steers Toward Happiness

Muffled sounds of distress came from the cardboard box behind a store in the Northern British Columbia town of Prince George. It was -35 degrees and it was only by chance that a woman named Shawna heard those faint cries. What she found was a near-frozen three-month-old Yorkie pup with a rubber band around her muzzle. Her tiny Yorkie nose was bulbous from edema caused by the circulation being cut off by the rubber band, her lips were infected and rotting.
Shawna thought the pup would die, but even if she could be saved, it would cost far more than she had. So Shawna called on Animal Advocates Society BC for help.
“Yes, we will pay. That is what we do.”
Little Star not only survived her ordeal, but has made a full recovery and is now a permanent member of Shawna’s family. The video below chronicles Star’s arduous journey and her very happy new life.
